Born in Mumbai, he is considered one of the most talented and brightest young painters from India. In 1990 he received his BFA from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art. Among his select solo exhibitions are 'War Is Over', Institute of Contemporary Indian Art (ICIA), Mumbai (2007). Suryakant Lokhande lives and works in Mumbai.
